STORY
Back in 2012, my second and fourth cylinder had a leak from a road course event in Tennessee. The car was pretty much stock with just minor bolt-ons. I had to make a decision whether to build it or to fix it. So I decided to pull the trigger and build everything, starting from the bare block, to create the monster making 803 awhp @ 39psi.

Why did I build it with that much horsepower? I wanted to over build it so I have room to tone it down. That way, it won't put too much stress on the motor. This motor is capable of putting down another 100 whp at least, but all the safety features on the map will be eliminated which is not something I wanted to do.

Sourcing the Galant VR4 block was pretty easy but getting all the other parts in were pita. The forums always have so many different opinions about certain setup that they swear it will not work. Especially with 4G64 matted with 4G63 head. I had to find a different water pump, machined the oil squirter finding head gaskets that seals good, etc. I like challenge, and I trust my vision.

I spent at least six months on forums to get feedback on which setup works the best. The build was a huge investment for me, so I wanted to make sure that I picked the right combo.

The internals were picked from the highest grade. A lot of people settled with ARP head studs. I went a step further and ordered the ARP 625 head studs and rod bolts that were rated 270k psi tensile strength because I didn’t want headaches down the road.

Also, to eliminate downtime, I purchased the whole drivetrain used and sent it to Sheptrans to have it built. Every option was put into the drivetrain.

Since the build, I've had some mishaps, snapped a timing belt, messed up my transmission, replaced the Exedy triple carbon clutch. I wanted to change my exterior color for the longest time, but always had something happen in between. I kept a cool head, knowingly that with a crazy build like this, there will always be consequences.

Now I just drive it once in a while to car shows with my club, Team Emotion. I'm proud to be in the best crew on the East Coast. I Iove the car scene and always enjoy meeting new people, getting fresh ideas and sharing stories.

FAVOURITE MODIFICATION
My motor build. A lot of cosmetic modifications can be duplicated easily, but I don't like cookie cutter. I wanted to build something to set the trends rather than to be a follower.
